Midtown

If you are looking for a neighborhood close to the beach and also has lots of shopping and restaurants, then Midtown is the place for you.

Midtown is one of Galveston’s most popular neighborhoods because it offers residents great access to all that Galveston Island offers without feeling crowded or congested. There are many single family homes for rent in Galveston, TX, especially in Midtown.

East End Historic District

This is one of the oldest neighborhoods in Galveston, established in 1854. It’s located on the eastern edge of Galveston Island and features a mix of Victorian and Greek Revival architecture. The streets are quiet, but they’re close enough to downtown so you can still have an exciting night out at some local bars or restaurants nearby.

The East End Historic District has been designated as a Historic Landmark by the National Register of Historic Places since 1975, and it’s very safe for families due to its proximity to schools and parks.

Galveston East End

Galveston East End is a neighborhood in Galveston, Texas. The neighborhood is located along the eastern edge of Galveston Island and is bordered by the Gulf of Mexico to the east and the neighborhoods of Downtown Galveston and Central City to the west.

The East End of Galveston was first settled in 1838 by Samuel May Williams, who built his home at 828 Broadway Street. At that time, most homes were built on piers above ground level so they could be raised up if needed during hurricanes or other disasters (this type of construction became known as “storm-proofing“).

East End has a wonderful blend of historic buildings alongside new developments that blend well with existing homes making for a very walkable community as well as many amenities like restaurants and shopping nearby!

South End

South End is a neighborhood in Galveston, Texas. The South End is located on the south side of the island and is bounded by Seawall Boulevard to the north, 61st Street to the east, and Galveston Island State Park to the west and south.

The area has access to many shops, bars, and restaurants that make up this quaint neighborhood. There are also many places for outdoor activities, such as swimming or running along the beach, which makes South End an ideal place to live!

Stewart Beach

Stewart Beach is a small neighborhood located on Galveston Island. It is located at the south end of Galveston Island and serves as a residential area for approximately 1,800 people. The community has been around since the 1800s, when it was first settled by immigrants who moved to Texas from Germany, France, and England.

After that period ended around 1900, African Americans began to move into Stewart Beach. This led to tension between these two groups because they had very different cultures and customs; however, overall harmony prevailed despite this lack of cohesion between races in the community.

Conclusion

We hope this article has given you some insight into the best neighborhoods in Galveston, TX. Each area has its unique style, but they all offer close access to restaurants, shopping, and entertainment options. If you are looking for a place to walk or bike to work, then Midtown may be ideal!
